Web Logger for Ibexa 4.6 and 5.0

The main idea is to provide observability to your Ibexa site behind a CDN or Varnish server.
If you want to know why certain requests that should be served from the cache from the CDN, are getting to Origin (your Servers), you need to see data that is not recorded in the usual access.log files.
You need Web Logger.

Logs the web requests that reach origin, the PHP servers of an Ibexa DXP site. Sites normally sit behind a CDN or Varnish, so the traffic that gets to PHP is only part of what visitors send. Web Logger shows that part: who asked, through which proxy, what they sent, and how it was answered.

What it does

- Records one row per request after the response is sent, so visitors never wait for it: date and time, method, host, path, query string, HTTP code, client IP, proxy IP, whether a session cookie came with it, user agent, serve, site access, the headers and the payload of POST/PUT.
- Is turned on and off from Admin > Web Logger > Settings.
- Detects the client IP behind Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, CloudFront, Varnish or a load balancer, believing a forwarded header only from trusted connections.
- Can keep the payload and the headers of each request for forensics, with passwords, tokens and cookies masked or not. Query strings, payloads and headers each have their own redaction switch.
- Skips excluded paths (`/admin` by default) and can log everything or only inside chosen time windows.
- Filters the log, exports it as CSV, reports the space the table uses, purges by age now or automatically, and clears it.

What it does not see

Only requests that reach PHP are logged. Not logged:

- pages a CDN or Varnish answers from its cache;
- files the web server serves by itself;
- requests that a fatal error stops before Symfony finishes;
- pages Symfony's own HTTP cache answers, on a project that enables it in `public/index.php`.

That is the point of the product: it shows what origin actually received. Excluded paths are not logged either.

Install

A PHP bundle for Ibexa 4.6 and a bundle for Ibexa 5.0 are provided, with easy to install instructions.
